  • What is a short-term loan?
    A short-term loan is an unsecured cash loan designed to help you until your next payday. Customers choose short-term loans to cover small, unexpected expenses while avoiding costly bounced-check fees and late payment penalties.
  • Do I qualify for a short-term loan?
    Customers need to meet certain criteria, First, you must be 18 years or older and a legal resident of Canada, have an active bank account, and receive over $800 a month in take home pay. A valid email address and working phone number are also required.
  • How much can I borrow?
    Usually, short-term loans range from $100 - $1500. In general, you can borrow up to 25% of your bi-weekly salary or up to 50% of your monthly salary. The actual amount depends on several factors, as each application is different. After successful repayment of your loan, your loan amount may increase on any future loans.
  • When can I get my money?
    Once approved, most short-term loans are electronically deposited directly into your account within 24 hours excluding weekends and holidays.
  • What is the procedure to apply for a short-term loan online?
    Complete and submit the application found on our website. The application itself takes just a couple of minutes. In most cases the application is reviewed and approved instantly.
  • What information do I need to complete the application?
    We need your name, address, contact details, employment information, and banking details in order to complete your loan request. SIN is not required, but including with your information may increase your chances of being approved for a loan.
  • Do I need to have great credit?
    Short-term loans are available to borrowers of all credit types. Even with bad credit you can still qualify for a loan. Your credit score is not a factor in receiving the loan in most cases, but your ability to pay back the loan will be evaluated.
  • What types of fees are involved?
    Short-term loans can be more expensive than traditional bank loans and are only intended for short-term needs. Please be sure to understand all terms and costs before accepting a short-term loan. The cost of the loan will be fully disclosed once you are approved.
  • Are there any restrictions on use of funds?
    No, you may apply for and use the loan for any purpose you choose. Common uses for short-term loans include paying bills, avoiding late fees, helping with rent or mortgage, or simply needing extra cash before the next paycheck.
  • Is my personal and financial information secure?
    We respect a customer's right to privacy in managing their personal finances. Our site uses a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. All sensitive data transmitted between your browser and our website uses 128 bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology.
  • Is there an application fee?
    Trusted Loans Online does not charge a fee to the applicant. The cost of the loan will depend on your specific application and the amount of the loan. Before you agree to the terms, please review them carefully.
  • Does submitting an application obligate me to take out a loan?
    No. Submitting an application simply states that you wish for Trusted Loans Online to review your application and contact you to discuss your short-term loan options. You may ask any questions, and withdraw your request if you choose to do so.
  • Do I need to fax any documents to you?
    Typically, everything is handled online and over the phone. Only on very rare occasion (for example, if there is information in your application that we can't confirm) we may ask you to e-mail us some additional documents, like a personal voided check, a photo I.D., utility bill or your last pay stub.
  • What if I change my mind and no longer want the loan?
    You have the ability to cancel your loan before 5:00 pm Eastern Time the next business day immediately following the disbursement date. Please contact our customer service department to discuss options.
  • What if I have a problem with my loan?

    We will do our best to rectify the situation if there was any mistake made by us, our staff, or our vendors who provide important services in connection with our loans.
  • Is this type of loan right for me?
    Short-term lending products provide the cash needed to meet an immediate short-term cash flow problem. It is not a solution for longer term financial problems for which longer term financing may be more appropriate. Trusted Loans Online is a relatively expensive lending solution. Alternative forms of credit, such as a credit card cash advance, personal loan, home equity line of credit, drawing from existing savings, or borrowing from a friend or relative may be less expensive and more suitable for your financial needs. You may want to discuss your financial situation with a non-profit financial counseling service in your community.
  • What type of bank account can I use?
    Currently, we only accept traditional checking accounts. The checking account must be registered under your own name. The checking account needs to be able to accept both ACH credits and debits. We do not currently accept prepaid card accounts.
  • Can I use my debit card to receive funding?
    In certain cases, yes we may be able to fund your loan directly onto your debit card. Please discuss this option with our customer support team at 1-855-888-0179 to see if you qualify.

Payment Information

  • How is the loan repaid?
    All loans are due on your next (approaching) payday. The loan amount and applicable fees will automatically be deducted from your bank account on the due date of the loan. You do not need to do anything.
  • Can I extend an existing loan?
    No. Canadian regulations ban the practice of extending loan due dates. You must pay it back in full on the due date.
  • What if I want to repay my loan early?
    Loans can be repaid at any time without penalty. Please contact our customer service department if you wish to repay your loan early.
  • What if I'm late on a payment?
    We understand that life is unpredictable and from time to time you may miss a payment. If you miss one payment but have a history of making other payments on time, we will waive the late fee on a one-time basis as a way to say "thank you" for being a good customer. If you work with us, we will work with you.
  • What happens if I miss a payment?
    We will work with you to make sure you are able to pay back the loan. We report payment history to the credit bureaus and want to make sure you are able to access the loans you need. We do understand that financial challenges present themselves at times. If you need help setting up a payment plan, please call our Customer Service line 1-855-888-0179.

    However, if you fail to work with us on adjusting the loan and setting a payment plan, we will suspend your account and access to our loans. We will also be forced to report to several credit bureaus about your non-payment or refusal of payment. Please take this very seriously, as this will hurt your chances of getting credit from other lenders in the future.
  • How can I bring down the finance fees and the overall cost of the loan?
    The more information you give us to make us comfortable about your creditworthiness, the more flexibility we will be able to give you. You will be eligible for lower rates as you build a borrowing history with us. We are constantly offering promotions to reduce your rate.
